I received this thoughtful letter from a reader. I agree that parents should
know about carbon monoxide poisoning, both sudden and chronic - including
the dangers to the most vulnerable, whether our young children or our aging
parents or grandparents. But even healthy teens are not immune. In fact, in
the U.S. they are the most common victims. Thanks, Lynne!

Dr. Greene,
I am writing to introduce myself my name is Lynn Griffiths. I am president of CO-Awareness which is based in Cheshire, England, I work 40 hours a week or more as an unpaid volunteer. As a CO poisoned victim myself I know what devastating effects this silent killer can have on family life. CO-Awareness support victims, their families, carers and friends poisoned by Carbon Monoxide (CO.) We aim to raise awareness of the dangers of CO poison to the public and the medical profession.
Our older generation, those with heart, lung problems, pregnant mothers, unborn babies, young children and home owners are all vulnerable to carbon monoxide (CO) poison. Carbon Monoxide needs to be taken more seriously by both the pubic and Medical Profession.
CO-Awareness would like every homeowner to fit a CO detector now as a back up to an annual service (Venerable people should have them fitted free by their council now) CO detectors need to be used as a back up to the annual gas service. I believe that the gas service alone is not the only answer.
Don't let your loved ones fall victim to this silent killer.
Best Wishes.
Lynn Griffiths.
CO-Awareness President.
